Sample applications for ProVect™
ProVect™ has numerous applications:
- Patient tracking – hospitals and care centres for the elderly are concerned to know the locations of patients and ensure they remain safe. Watch sized devices enabled with the ProVect™ software can track patients within a defined area, and alarm when they wander away. The devices are significantly less expensive than equivalent GPS devices, have low battery usage (programmable recharging) and work inside or in built-up location. Web based and client-server owner operated solutions can be provided giving different levels of positioning accuracy and optional alarming depending on the level of concern.
- Rental car locating – Delma’s locating devices do not require hard wiring into cars (and therefore avoid warranty invalidation) and have low power usage. The locating technology works under cover and so cannot be evaded by placing the target vehicle inside a container. End-point localisation using ProVect™ technology allows for precise locating and recovery of vehicles.
- Cell-fencing – areas can be defined in terms of network cell(s). Alerts and alarms can then be programmed for devices or personnel moving into or out of a specific cell or cells. VIP routes can be cell-fenced (and this can be combined with “smart” bomb jamming systems). Cell-fencing in this way has advantages over LBS geo-fencing (where lat/long coordinates are used) in terms of cost, speed and simplicity. Stock taking (for car rental companies or any business with high value items) is greatly improved and simplified; with one click of a button, the user is made aware of which vehicles are safely stored within the coverage.
- Private Network Locating – the ProVect™ technology can be combined with a portable private mobile network (PMN) and installed at short notice in a disaster area or an area where the GSM network is not functioning. Delma MSS, in conjunction with PMN technology partners, can provide a solution which allows emergency response services to communicate within a defined area (of up to 5 km square) and locate and track assets and personnel.
- Mass-market targeted advertising – within a mapped area, subscribers can be targeted with location-relevant adverting as they move into and out of defined sectors. Sports fans can opt to be sent information as they enter known sports arenas.
