Code of Ethics
This Code sets-out the principles underlying our corporate behaviour and the behaviour of our staff and employees. This Code is reviewed annually and more regularly as required.
Commitment
- The Board of Delma is committed to promoting the highest standards of ethical behaviour and communicating this throughout our business. We require employees to act in accordance with our ethical principles. Delma’s reputation and the trust and confidence of those we work with are vital to us.
- We routinely and comprehensibly assess the risks of our business being involved in or connected with bribery or other corrupt practices.
- Delma does business worldwide, under different political and legal systems. We obey the law, and respect the customs and culture of the countries where we operate and obey national and international trade restrictions.
- In some countries where we operate, bribery and corruption are prevalent. These practices damage the public interest and are illegal in the UK and other developed economies. Delma prohibits the offering, giving, solicitation or acceptance of any bribe directly or indirectly, whether in cash or other form of inducement, or engaging in any other corrupt practice. We monitor ethical standards on a regular basis.
Customers
- Delma acts with integrity in the interests of our customers, maintains the confidence of their information and aims to apply due skill and care in the provision of our services. We are committed to making our communications, marketing and publications factually accurate, ethical and fair.
Suppliers and business partners
- We aim to establish relationships with our suppliers, sub-contractors and business partners based on mutual respect and good governance. We complete appropriate due diligence on all our business partners to manage risk and to avoid dealing with partners where there is a suspicion of corruption. Our contractual relations where possible allow us to withdraw from doing business in the event of unethical practices.
- On occasion, we will use independent agents to represent us and promote our products and services. We monitor their conduct to ensure compliance with our ethical standards. Their remuneration must be appropriate and at market value.
Employees
- We comply with applicable equal opportunities legislation and are committed to a non-discriminatory work place. We aim to promote on merit without discrimination. We encourage open communication with and between employees.
- We do not tolerate the use of business assets or contacts for personal gain and require employees to resolve any conflicts of interest fairly.
- Adherence to Delma’s Code of Ethics is a condition of employment.
Gifts and hospitality
- Appropriate business entertainment and gifts can generate goodwill and promote good working relations and ethical practices. However, employees must avoid situations which interfere of might appear to interfere with the impartial fulfilment of their duties. Delma employees must not make “facilitation payments” (i.e. small payments to officials to facilitate actions which are legally due). Delma does not make political donations.
Public interest disclosure
- We provide accessible channels through which employees can raise concerns where they suspect a breach of this Code.
